Selfridges Volunteer at the Farm!

Selfridges, Manchester have been using some of their volunteer days to support CAFT with their first visit being to CAFTFest, our accessible family festival, on the first weekend of July. Volunteer tasks during the festival included helping with refreshments, crafts, parking, woodland activities, marshmallow toasting, tombola and cleaning. With 2,000 children attending CAFTFest over the weekend, we wouldn’t be able to provide such a huge range of activities without our army of wonderful volunteers to help run the show.

David Moreland, Facilities Manager at Selfridges gave feedback from their experience; “I know for certain that we all had a fantastic day supporting at CAFTfest and seeing the work that you do for the families and children.”

Not only do we recruit volunteers for our seasonal events for the children, we also have several maintenance days available throughout the year; a great opportunity to get stuck in on the farm as part of a team building day. Selfridges brought some of their team members to CAFT earlier this month to give us a helping hand with gardening and painting. Along with donating their time, Selfridges secured funding to support their volunteer day that helps us pay for the resources and materials to provide the most beneficial and enjoyable day as possible for the teams – which in turn frees up vital funds to provide more visits to children who so desperatley need it.

Martine Eastwood, Brand Specialist at Selfridges left with some lovely words: “Thank you so much for a very rewarding day at CAFT it’s such a wonderful charity, & the team are doing such an amazing job for the kids – such a great place to relax and enjoy a special time!”

Thank you so much to Selfridges for their hard work and using their time to make a different at CAFT. The teams are now keen to come back later in the year to help with Halloween and Christmas!
