Race the Sun

20 Jun 2020

Race the Sun, Saturday 20th June.

Join us for this incredible event, where we cycle 170 miles, Coast to Coast, East to West, Dawn till Dusk from Skegness to Liverpool on the longest Saturday of the year!

Organised in partnership with Timperley Bonshakers cycling Club, this one is for the all the cyclists looking to push themselves a little further than ever before, although relay options are also available. We will start the ride as the sun raises (4.42am) in Skegness (East Coast), and finish in Liverpool (West Coast), hopefully way before the sun sets! The 170 mile route is relatively flat (7,326ft), but it will take us through the Peak District between mile 90 and 120, including climbs up Winnets Pass and Kettleshulme… But worry not – the ride will be well supported with vehicles placed at every 15 – 20 mile points and help at hand if needed.

Following the glorious arrival to the finish in Liverpool, you can either be transported back, or those with some energy left can cycle back to CAFT to cross the 200 mile mark – the distance that so very few cyclist have conquered in one day.

Participants can either get transported from CAFT on the day (leaving at approx. 1am), or stay the night before in Skegness (leaving CAFT on Friday 19th June at approx. 2pm). If you require an accommodation in Skegness, please let us know asap (Premier Inn £29 p/p based on 2 sharing) or arrange your own.

£45 entry donation. There is no minimum sponsorship required, but we would be grateful for those in position to raise further sponsorship to do so. You will certainly deserve it!

To take part, please email jure@caft.co.uk or submit enquiry below.
