The CAFT Events Begin!
25/03/2024
After a couple of months into the New Year of prepping and planning, this month we kicked off the fundraising calendar of events and challenges for CAFT!
The Great Ridge Walk
First up, we had our first walking event of the year on 16th March – The Great Ridge Walk in the Peak District – and we got so lucky with the weather! Covering up to 20 miles, participants enjoyed beautiful views across numerous peaks including Mam Tor and Kinder Low. Over 70 people joined us for a fantastic day of hiking, raising £3,714 for CAFT – enough to fund 310 children and their families to visit CAFT for a day. Amazing! Thank you so much to everyone who took part, those who sponsored the walkers and to our wonderful volunteers on the day. Don’t miss the next one, coming up on Saturday 13th April up Snowdon!
The CAFT Quiz Night
On Thursday 21st March, we held a night of quizzing, hosted by Radio Alty presenter Peter Scotson. Over 80 people joined us at Bowdon RUFC Marquee Room in teams of 6, to test their knowledge in rounds including Music, Sport, Countries, Science and more! Guests enjoyed a delicious hot pot meal served by Proper Scran Kitchen, as well as 15 winners taking home a prize from the raffle!
With an impressive 91 points out of 110, the quiz winning team The Unspellables took home the CAFT trophy. Well done to all teams – and thank you to everyone that joined us and further supported on the night in the raffle and sponsoring a child to visit CAFT. In total, we raised £3,367 from the event. Thank you to our host Peter and our wonderful volunteers on the night.
Easter Chick Ride
Our annual Easter Chick Ride returned on Sunday 24th March to brighten the Cheshire lanes with over 80 chicks cycling 14, 32 or 52 mile routes! Chicks enjoyed a rest stop at The Farm Club, Pickmere for refreshments before finishing their journey at High Legh Garden Centre. Huge thank you to everyone who took part, and to our volunteers who make it all happen!

Our events don’t stop there! We have a jam packed line up of events and challenges for the rest of the year!
From a Golf Day, Ladies Lunch and Sports Day to our Grand Ball later in the year, take a look at our amazing events here.
